Internet Scam Steals My Cash

In 2006 in the Summer time around August, I was dealing with a web designer in India who I was paying to build me a website. I should have known his offer was way too good to be true. $20 for a full website! Anyway, he sent me an EXE which I later found out may contain viruses and exploits.

He said if I double click it, it will build my website. So I clicked it. After I clicked it, he never e-mailed me back or spoke to me ever again. I thought I was lucky that I did not pay him yet. So about 3 weeks later, I check my online money accounts such as Paypal and EGold and what has happened? He took all of my money.

I hired an investigator and found he had placed a keylogger on my computer. I had over $3000 stolen and he was in India hiding. He knew everything I have typed and he even tried to use Paypal to widthrawl even more money from the bank. To this day, I have resolved this issue as it took over 9 months for Paypal to give me my money back and of course, the other guy is hiding still.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I am very leery of doing business with people over the internet. That sounds crazy because I do a lot of my work on the internet, but all of my clients and vendors have been cleared through an agency before I will work with them.

If you need software to be completed or website or anything else like that then it is best to have the money escrowed into an account first. There is a company that you can go to get that kind of work done they list what you need and people bid on the project and then you escrow only that money and if they finished project is not what you wanted you can dispute the work and all uploaded work to their site will be reviewed and then if what you state in your dispute is correct they will not be paid.

I once did this Auto Surf thing and I was fine. I guess you got bad luck that time. I heard of several Auto Surfing websites doing that. Basically you download their program so you can surf through stuff for like 1 cents per surf. In reality those programs are exploits or keyloggers being put into your computer. It is a shame really because you get money real quick "supposedly" and you tend to check your say Paypal account. Boom; keylogger takes your username and password. It is only a matter of time before your e-mail is gone.

Yes, I am suprised I am still fine financially. I trusted people back then but never again. I did not know about EXE's and I mainly only trusted the worker because I was paying him. I know a lot better now. This was a few years ago and I guess it is unheard of today. As the world becomes more tech orientated, the less gullable people are. Thats a good sign I guess.

Chris2k5 I guess you might allready be bankrupt by now, you seem to get scammed by everyone. 3000$ is quite some money there, I woudl never keep 3k in my e-gold or paypal account. And as a paranthese why did you click the ,exe file if you knew nothing about it?
